The mission of Community Christian Church is to proclaim Christ’s love to all people, and a big part of that proclamation is through Outreach, our service to others in the community and throughout the world. Here are some of the projects we support on a regular basis:
Christmas Is Sharing
This yearly project shows the generosity of our Disciples. Each year
we sponsor families in the community who are in need. We provide not only
the necessities but help to make their Christmas a little happier with a "goodie
box", including gifts, Christian books and even a gas card. In 2008 we were able
to provide Christmas for seventeen families.
Thank you for your generosity and hard work of several shoppers and wrappers who put in extra time.
Contact Linda Martin to volunteer 346-5872.
Meals on Wheels
This program delivers meals to individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals. We organize teams of people to deliver meats to local residents through the Senior Center once or twice a month and are looking for people to help. Please contract Coordinators Bill & Beth Finke 346-8371 if you would be interested in volunteering. .
LAMB House (Lake Area Ministerial Benevolence)
This ecumenical organization is supported by various Churches in the Camdenton community as an extension of the the Lake Area Ministerial Alliance. It provides assistance to the needy by providing food, clothing, commodities and occasionally fuel and rental assistance. Volunteers are needed to sort and attach coupons at Gerbes, sort donated items, stock shelves in the pantry and work in the store. LAMB House volunteers can call Linda Martin at 346-5872.
Share the Harvest Food Pantry & Thrift Shop http://www.foodpantry-greenviewmissouri.org/
Share the Harvest Food Pantry is currently serving 550-600 families or 1800+people and that continues to increase. The food comes from Central Missouri Food Bank, USDA Commodities, and donations from the community. All monies earned from the Thrift Store go to help with the Food Pantry.
